Words of wisdom

“If this book [the Bible] isn’t open, you should get up and leave.”

That’s what my pastor said this past Sunday while he was preaching out of Ephesians chapter 5. He’s right of course. If you’re sitting in a church and don’t need to open your Bible, head for the nearest emergency exit. You might also want to consider heading for the door if they aren’t using the Bible at your Bible study or Sunday school class.

We need to read, study, memorize and know the Word of God. A proper grasp of it is what can keep us from being deceived by false teachers. It is the Word of God that cuts to the heart of us, convicts us of sin, calls us to repentance and worship and tells us of the glorious hope that can be found in Jesus Christ.

About Julia

Here's what you might like to know about me. My name is Julia and I'm a Christian. I love the Bible and, much less importantly, a good steak. My goal with this site is to share the truth of scripture with believer and non-believer alike, and to specifically encourage believers to study and know the Bible, and warn them of false teachings in and around the church. Romans 1:16-17 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, the just shall live by faith."
