Thankfulness

“In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18

What an incredible verse. What a challenge! To give thanks in everything. I was reminded of how much I have to be thankful for today when I got an email from my cousin. He is a Marine and is currently stationed in Afghanistan. I was immediately thankful and relieved to know he and his fiance are both okay upon reading his update.

I’ll admit that some days (weeks, even) I get caught up in the trouble and the stress of life and I forget to be grateful. Like that wonderful Bing Crosby song in White Christmas “Count Your Blessings” I could stand to count mine a lot more often. The list in my head, when I stop to think, is very long.

What are you thankful for today?

About Julia

Here's what you might like to know about me. My name is Julia and I'm a Christian. I love the Bible and, much less importantly, a good steak. My goal with this site is to share the truth of scripture with believer and non-believer alike, and to specifically encourage believers to study and know the Bible, and warn them of false teachings in and around the church. Romans 1:16-17 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, the just shall live by faith."
