Phil Johnson’s Survey of Heresies

Speaking of heresies …

As I’ve mentioned before Phil Johnson was doing a series of messages about historical heresies and their modern day counterparts. Sola Sisters has helpfully compiled a list of links to those messages along with a handy dandy chart of each heresy, it’s proponents, the kind of error and modern day manifestation.

Check it out so that you will be better equipped to contend for the faith as Jude says: “Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.”

About Julia

Here's what you might like to know about me. My name is Julia and I'm a Christian. I love the Bible and, much less importantly, a good steak. My goal with this site is to share the truth of scripture with believer and non-believer alike, and to specifically encourage believers to study and know the Bible, and warn them of false teachings in and around the church. Romans 1:16-17 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, the just shall live by faith."

  1. HA! Roman Catholics are proponents of the heresy of the Judaizers? Give me a break. I can’t take anybody seriously who spouts such nonsense.

    • And, that probably wasn’t a very charitable thing for me to say. 😦 I posted that this morning having just rolled over in bed and before my coffee. Though that’s not an excuse.

I gave you a couple of blog awards! You’re welcome to take them and pass them along. 🙂

      • Julia says:

Why thank you. As for your comment I have no problem with people expressing their views – as long as it isn’t done in a profane way. Yours wasn’t.

      • Well, my tone wasn’t exactly friendly, nor was it “turning the other cheek.” And calling people I disagree with full of “nonsense” is exactly what I’m trying to encourage other people to stop doing.
