An update on Bakker’s book: Faith, Doubt …

I posted the other day about the books I’d read last month and there is one I didn’t mention. I have been reading Jay Bakker’s book: Faith, Doubt and Other Lines I’ve crossed. But I’m only in chapter 6. I wanted to let you all know that I plan to review it and am going through it as time allows. The book has grieved me greatly and not only because of what I consider doctrinal errors that it is propagating. I just wanted to let you know I hadn’t forgotten that I said I would read and review it. It is coming as soon as I can give it a fair hearing and compose my thoughts cogently and lovingly.

About Julia

Here's what you might like to know about me. My name is Julia and I'm a Christian. I love the Bible and, much less importantly, a good steak. My goal with this site is to share the truth of scripture with believer and non-believer alike, and to specifically encourage believers to study and know the Bible, and warn them of false teachings in and around the church. Romans 1:16-17 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, the just shall live by faith."

  1. That is the best thing about you — always cogent and loving in your words. You even put up with a sometimes-obnoxious (as I fear I’ve been) Catholic like me. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Joe! I try to be. I know I’ll fail at it sometimes, but I don’t want attitude to get in the way of an important message.

Thanks for reading, no matter how different our views are. 😀
