There are days when I throw my hands up and say, “Lord, I really don’t know what you’re doing with my life.” Thankfully, in those moments I still know that He knows what He’s doing.
In the past month or so I saw an opportunity and pursued it. I was very excited about it, but I didn’t get what I wanted from it. It was painful and disappointing. But the Lord did at least one really amazing thing throughout the process. He enabled me to realize the disappointment was coming, long before it arrived. I grieved, but I grieved weeks before the news came. So when I actually heard what would have pained me, instead of tears I found joy. Instead of frustration, I found relief.
I have had many disappointments in life, and I’m sure there will be hundreds or thousands more before I die. And they haven’t all happened this way, which is why I’m so thankful that this time God showed me grace in disappointment by working the timing of things just so.
