Don’t Miss List 10.16.13

It’s been awhile since I posted a Don’t Miss List, but today is the day.

Strange Fire Conference Starts Today

I had hoped to attend this conference in California, but was too late when I attempted to register. The good news is that the event is being broadcast live on the internet so you can see it regardless of where you live. John MacArthur, Phil Johnson, R.C. Sproul and many others will be sharing their concerns about charismatic theology. You can check it out here. I’m off to California for vacation tomorrow, but hoping to catch some of this by live stream.

An orphan’s story

I found this because a friend shared it on Facebook. The Tampa Bay Times tells the heartbreaking story of teenager who has been in foster care his whole life, and whose birth mother recently died. He went to a church to ask someone to adopt him. If you’re anything like me you’ll be choking back tears when you read Davion’s story.

The next few days

As I mentioned, I’m jetting off to California tomorrow. My goal is to post briefly what I’m up to with photos here each day. I know that is a departure from my usual content, but I hope you enjoy it.

About Julia

Here's what you might like to know about me. My name is Julia and I'm a Christian. I love the Bible and, much less importantly, a good steak. My goal with this site is to share the truth of scripture with believer and non-believer alike, and to specifically encourage believers to study and know the Bible, and warn them of false teachings in and around the church. Romans 1:16-17 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, the just shall live by faith."
