These two podcasts from Fighting for the Faith are so important. Andy Stanley is an incredibly popular pastor with a massive Atlanta church. But in his latest sermon serious he’s making some grave errors and accusations against truth and the biblical model of church.
Pastor Chris Rosebrough of F4F exposes Stanley’s attack on the correct model of church in this episode (roughly the last hour of the podcast).
Rosebrough then exposes Stanley’s version of church history as wrong in the entirety of this podcast.

About Julia
Here's what you might like to know about me. My name is Julia and I'm a Christian. I love the Bible and, much less importantly, a good steak. My goal with this site is to share the truth of scripture with believer and non-believer alike, and to specifically encourage believers to study and know the Bible, and warn them of false teachings in and around the church.
Romans 1:16-17 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, the just shall live by faith."
I highly recommend that folks make the time to listen to these two episodes.
Can we get the reader’s digest version?
I don’t have time right now to write an adequate summation, but maybe this will help.
Sermon 1 – Andy Stanley invents a model of church he calls the Temple Model which is characterized by “sacred texts,” “sacred spaces,” and male leadership. He then attacks the biblical model of church by claiming it is Temple Model error. Seriously, you should listen to the program when you can.
2) In the second, Stanley botches thousands of years of church history (sounding positively emergent) with claims about the canon, Constantine, etc. He tosses in praise for the monastics a diss of the reformers and continues to use this invented “Temple Model” concept to bash elements of biblical Christianity.
I think Stanley’s laying the groundwork here for something big, I just don’t know yet what it is.
