Don’t Miss List for April 12, 2016

Victoria Osteen Puts Words in Jesus’ Mouth

VOsteenThe Museum of Idolatry has this 44-second gem on display, providing further proof that neither Joel Osteen or his wife Victoria, have any idea what the Bible actually says or means.

One of my favorite Shepherd’s Conference Messages

I intended to post this sooner, but life and surgery got in the way. But I think this session from ShepCon 2016 by Nathan Busenitz is a must listen. Titled “Evangelicalism’s Quest for Popular Acceptance,” Busenitz delves into the risks of choosing intellectualism, political influence or even the noble goal of trying to reach more people over biblical fidelity. These are all tempting alternatives to biblical faithfulness that must be rejected.

Berean Research on the Azusa “Revival”

The Azusa event took place over the weekend and Berean Research has a post about it.

Iran’s Underground Church Continues to Grow

I wrote this article for WORLD recently about the growth of Christianity under severe persecution in Iran.

Entreating Favor on the Psalms

I really loved this Psalms edition of EF’s “Best Book of the Bible” series from Nate Pickowicz. I love the Psalms, for this is helpful place to start if you’re not quite sure what this huge book of poetry is doing in the middle of your Bible.

A Quote From Martyn Lloyd-Jones

“One of the greatest exponents of the Christian faith that the world has ever known was the mighty apostle Paul, and he tells us that we are as we are because of the sin of Adam and that we all sinned with him and we all fell with him. And Paul says that over against Adam is the Lord Jesus Christ: ‘For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive’ (1 Corinthians 15:22).”

About Julia

Here's what you might like to know about me. My name is Julia and I'm a Christian. I love the Bible and, much less importantly, a good steak. My goal with this site is to share the truth of scripture with believer and non-believer alike, and to specifically encourage believers to study and know the Bible, and warn them of false teachings in and around the church. Romans 1:16-17 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, the just shall live by faith."
